No one needs to struggle to bring God’s word to pass. After we have played our part of obedience to God, the fulfilment of His word concerning us is His responsibility. God will fulfill His promises in His own way and in His own time. We do not need to know when or how He will do it, but we can rest assured that He will never fail to keep His word. When contradictory circumstances around us become overwhelming, the natural tendency is for us to doubt that we actually heard God. It is for this reason that the Bible says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;” (Prov 3:5).

Regardless of how accurately and clearly you have heard from God, Satan will still attempt to get you to doubt that you actually heard God. “Has God indeed said…?” (Gen 3:1) is still his mode of operation. However, if we refuse to listen to Satan’s lies, his voice will get weaker and weaker and eventually fade away. Therefore, “Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” (1Pet 5:9).

God is more interested in our doing His will than we are, because it is the only way we can walk in His plans for us. It is important to note that nothing is more thrilling to God than our living out His plans for us. God’s plans for us reflect His love, care and sense of responsibility towards us. Though some people may have been unintentionally conceived by their parents, with no prior plan whatever for them, that is not the case with God. We can see the confirmation of this timeless and universal truth in the following words of God to Jeremiah: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” (Jer 1:5).

In keeping with the perfect model of fatherhood He personifies, God has plans for each of us that anticipate and provide for every need in advance. This is one reason why we do not need to be anxious or fretful. God’s plans for us are comprehensive and detailed in scope. Peter, the Apostle, put it this way: “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” (2Pet 1:3 NIV). There is nothing left out of “everything” as used in the scriptural text above. Therefore, rather than struggling in the flesh to make plans for yourself, seek God to reveal His plans for you and carefully walk therein. Then you will discover to your delight that, “…with God nothing is ever impossible and [that] no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. (Lk 1:37 AMP). Shalom.
