Though God had at various times and in various ways spoken in time past to the fathers, He, “has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;” (Heb 1:2). The verse above partly gives us the reason for God’s choice of Jesus as His perfect communication to humanity : God has appointed Jesus heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds. The next verse extends the reason to being that: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. …” (Heb 1:3 NIV). The following expression captures it all : “…. This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matt 3:17). No wonder Colossians 1:10 says, “and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.” God looks at us in Christ Jesus and sees nothing broken and nothing missing. This is because, “… having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,” (Rom 5:1).
In Christ Jesus, the Father found a means of redeeming and justifying mankind, without becoming unjust in the process. When God looks at me, He sees His righteousness or justice, because my sins were not just blotted away, but were borne (with their attendant consequences) by Jesus, who became a sin offering for me. There was no way God could have shown me mercy, without violating the claims of divine justice, except by satisfying divine justice through an acceptable sacrifice. That was exactly what He did by having sent Jesus to die, not just for me, but as me. This is why the Bible says, “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Rom 6:4). Newness of life—a life characterized by righteousness, peace and joy in the HolySpirit (Rom 14:17)—is my heritage in Christ.
Do you desire to enjoy the newness of life that is yours in Christ? Then God’s way, as expressed in the following scriptural texts, is your only chance: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2Cor 3:18). The secret to being transformed is to behold the glory of God consistently. The more you see His glory, the more you mirror His image. However, to behold the glory of God, we need to look into the perfect law of liberty and continue in it (James 1:25). For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Rom 1:17). You receive the revelation of your right  standing with God and its related benefits and possibilities, as you look intently into the Bible. You should read, study, and meditate on the word of God regularly.
In addition, follow the example of the Psalmist who says, “Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law.” (Ps 119:18). The Bible will remain a closed Book to anyone who will not approach it prayerfully. The Psalmist did not ask God to open his eyes because he was physically blind, but because, he was aware that in spite of being sighted, it was impossible to see beyond the letters of the Bible, without Divine revelation. Let us not be like the Pharisees, whom Jesus rebuked for their wrong approach to the Bible : “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.” (Jn 5:39-40). Unless, like the Psalmist, we humbly call upon God for insight into His word, we may end up like the two disciples of Jesus, with whom He walked on the way to Emmaus (Lk 24:13-33), without their recognising Him, initially. We would do well to accept this invitation : “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jer 33:3).
Nothing I have said so far will work if we ignore or neglect the HolySpirit. God’s word is clear : “So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” (Zech 4:6). Substitute your name for Zerubbabel in the scriptural text above, and the application will still be correct and relevant. Recall that according to 2Cor 3:18, to be transformed into the same image from glory to glory, is as by the Spirit of the Lord. This is because it is only what the HolySpirit reveals to you that you can receive from God : “He will honor and glorify Me, because He will take of (receive, draw upon) what is Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you. Everything that the Father has is Mine. That is what I meant when I said that He [the Spirit] will take the things that are Mine and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you.” (Jn 16:14-15 AMP). We must yield to the HolySpirit if we consistently want to receive from the Father. Shalom.
